Everyone knows what an AC system does, and everyone knows what a heating system does. But here's a question: What does a whole-house air-purification system do? A whole-house air-purification system is a different 'breed of animal' in that it doesn't heat the air, nor cool the air – it cleanses the air! There is one other thing a whole-house air-purification system does: it brings peace of mind!
For infants, elderly family members, and those with asthma and other respiratory challenges, the cleaner the air, the better! Fresher, cleaner, purer, more-breathable air is beneficial for everyone! When your Southlake home has a whole-house air-purification system installed, you turn it on and, simply, allow it to work behind the scenes with very little upkeep and no disruption to anyone's daily routine. At Jeremiah Heating & Cooling, we offer it all when it comes to keeping the air your family breathes, optimally healthy and, virtually, contaminant-free!
It is what you can't see in the air that can be causing or contributing to your allergies, fatigue, headaches, sinus issues, dizziness, and/or illnesses. If your home is new or has been recently remodeled, be aware of the very real dangers of possible elevated levels of harmful formaldehyde and VOCs.
Gases, from pressed-wood products including plywood and countertops, as well as chemicals in new carpet and paint, combine to give newly-constructed homes that 'new home' smell. If your home's air contains levels of formaldehyde, the only way to optimally remove it from indoors is with an air purifier that contains a deep-bed activated carbon filter. Jeremiah AC can test your home – whether newer or older – to determine your indoor-air-quality.
Also, let's not forget cigarette smoke and pets – a whole-house air-purification system will do wonders to remove microscopic dander, toxins, bacteria, viruses, mold spores, and other harmful contaminants. HEPA filters and activated charcoal filters, for example, capture smoke particles and remove offensive smoke smell.
Jeremiah AC is veteran/woman-owned & operated and state-licensed and insured. For 17 years, our company has helped homeowners and business owners in and around the Fort Worth area enjoy the health benefits of comfortable, cleaner, purer air!
A true whole-house air-purification system is built into the HVAC framework and could include:
Electronic Filters: Technology comes into play with electronic filters which are embedded into the ductwork. Once air is forced through this type of filter, it makes contact with a high-voltage current which causes particles in the air to become electrically charged. The opposite end of the electronic filter grabs the particles, almost as if they were magnetized. Electronic filters operate on a 120-volt outlet and, unlike media filters, never need to be replaced.
Ultraviolet Filters: When germs need to be eliminated, ultraviolet filters are true contaminant-fighting warriors! When UV filters are part of a whole-house air-purification system, their 'superpower' involves zapping 99% of viruses, bacteria, and mold into oblivion as the air passes through the ductwork.
HEPA Filters: Through the use of an internal fan, HEPA filters capture microscopic pollutants such as dust, pet dander, allergens, mold spores, and some bacteria as well as visible contaminants including smoke and dust. HEPA filters are highly-effective and can capture 99.97% of microscopic allergens as tiny as 0.3 microns, or smaller. In comparison, a human hair = 50-70 microns in diameter/a pollen particle = about 10 microns in diameter/a particle of dust = under 10 microns in diameter.
Activated Carbon Filters: As a specially-treated medium, activated-carbon filters absorb pollutants and impurities as air is passed through them, via an internal fan. Odors, vapors and gases – from smoke, cooking, chemicals, paints, etc. – are removed from the air.
Ionizers – Ionizers use no filters. Instead, negatively-charged ions are released into the air which, literally, latch onto pollutants such as dust, allergens, smoke, and mold spores. Ionizer technology neutralizes unpleasant odors, removes airborne contaminants, and reduces static electricity build-up around sensitive electronics.
